Ajawavi J. Ajavon is a seasoned global leader, entrepreneur, and civic advocate with over two decades of experience in corporate leadership, nonprofit development, philanthropy, and community building. Born and raised in Liberia, West Africa, she immigrated to the United States during her youth—an experience that shaped her passion for bridging cultures and empowering diasporic communities.

As the founder and CEO of the Delaware Africa Chamber of Commerce, Ajavon works to strengthen economic ties between Delaware and the African continent by fostering trade, investment, and professional networks. Her leadership emphasizes “trade, not aid,” seeking to create sustainable economic opportunities and collaboration across sectors.

Beyond her chamber role, she has been active in public service and community initiatives. She has served as a mediator and adjunct professor, and—in a past campaign—ran for a seat in the Delaware House to further her commitment to civic engagement and social change. She also participates in community boards and nonpartisan efforts focused on economic empowerment, social justice, and immigration advocacy.
